Hi! I'm Mrs. Lauren!
Hello! My name is Lauren Tijerina. I am the owner and instructor of Little STEM Club.  The passion I have for children and teaching has led me here today! I am so excited to get to know your young learners and explore the world of STEM together. Here’s a little bit about myself and my background.
I grew up in San Antonio, TX and I am a die hard Spurs fan!  I attended and graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with my BA in Interdisciplinary Studies. I moved to Austin to complete my student teaching and was a teacher for Round Rock Independent School District for six years as a first grade teacher at Chandler Oaks Elementary School, an IB World School. In 2021 we decided to move back home and have now settled in Boerne. I have been married for 8 years and I am a mom to a spunky little guy named JD and a sweet little girl named Isabella.Â
A little about my professional background as an educator. I started my career working with children when I was a teenager with babysitting and then being a nanny. Throughout college I spent 4 years working at two different daycares and was lucky enough to work with 2-4 year olds. I hold multiple certifications, Generalist for early childhood through sixth grade, English as a Second Language for early childhood through twelfth grade, Special Education for early childhood through twelfth grade, and Gifted and Talented. I also have six years experience as an International Baccalaureate educator of the Primary Years Programme. Following my time as an elementary educator I opened and operated my own licensed in-home preschool, Lasting Learners Academy, for 3-5 year olds from August 2018 – December 2020.
